Tonight we celebrated! Sage had earned another book-it personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut, and we are super proud of all the good things his teacher had to say about him at conferences.
So off to the Hut – Brie, Sage, Papa, Grandma, and myself (hubs is ill).
Now we’ve made this trip a few times before with little to note; however, tonight was not such a trip. It all started after the waitress had taken our order.
Sage and Papa started playing some sort of battle with Sages toy figures. Sploosh my dad’s drink went FLYING off the table! It wasn’t the younger ones doing either lol. If my mom’s coat hadn’t been hanging where it had, the people across from us would’ve certainly gotten it in their laps.
We got it all cleaned up, and new drinks ordered, and many giggles uttered. Back to pre-pizza activities – on the calmer level of play this time.
Brie and I were looking at a board book, grandma and Sage were discussing the activities on the kid placemat, and papa was enjoying the moment.
Our waitress brought papa’s replacement drink, and Sage’s refill. Also on her tray was another table’s beverages. As she left our table the entire tray went crashing to the floor just behind Brie’s chair. The waitress did a good job of avoiding her. She quickly dashed to the back to get clean up tools, and came back crying. Ok she’s 7mo pregnant so that might be part of it, but I think she was shaken because she almost got Brie.
and there Brie sat, dry as can be, obliviously happy.
We couldn’t help but laugh! That’s a lot of spilling, and none of it was at the hand or elbow of a kid. I never could’ve guessed we would’ve seen so much flying beverage tonight. Yes flying – not a gentle overturn of a cup – distance was had by these beverages.
Next time you go to the Chippewa Pizza Hut don’t sit at table 5 without your rain gear, or at least a large roll of paper towel. Be prepared to laugh, spills happen – ALOT
Who knew reading could bring such wet times. Well done Sage!
