She did it! yay yay yay yay I totally didn’t expect it to go like this. ok let em start from the beginning . Tonight we went over to my dear friends house. Her son (my amazing God son) is 2.5 and they had been borrowing our potty chair. However he has decided that toileting is not his thing. So we went over to pick up the device as Brie had been showing some curiosity and their son was showing zero.
Of course when we got how she had to sit on it and see what would happen. Mostly we read books and tried to convince her to stay sitting.
I’m down with that. Heck it’s her first go at it. Potty training isn’t an instant thing as I remember from the big kid. We got her off when she wasn’t interests any longer and went to work making dinner.
Our routine after dinner is to dunk Brie in the tub – usually she’s covered from head to toe having FULLY experienced her meal. Tonight I thought wha the heck she’ll be getting undressed for the tub I’ll ask if she wants to try again. She nodded with approval and waddled over to the potty. She lifted the lid and sat down. I started the tub water and then directed my attention to her. That’s when I noticed the lil collection container wasn’t looking white. Was it really yellow I saw? I looked more closely – it wasn’t a shadow or optical illusion SHE HAD GONE POTTY!!!!! like for real!!!!
Yes my rational brain says it was convienant timing, but I’m ignoring that for the moment and relishing in the joy and excitement!
Cheering and clapping and whooting and happy dances were all had at that moment. Sage came bounding in and showed his approval as well.
Brie joined in the clapping and gave out several high-5s and grinned from ear to ear.
So proud of our lil penguin. It’s a great first step in the right direction.
