The Chocolate Diaries

Over the past week or so I’ve had the privilege of reading The Chocolate Diaries by Karen Scalf Linamen  for Carol (W.W.I.B. inc director of stewardship) and give her feed back for a potential gift offer for the station.

WOW! What a good read. The author did a great job of getting her points across. She has many stories from her life to offer, as well as a slue of tips on coping she has gotten from a wide variety of people, and points to ponder that really get you thinking! She reminds me a lot of Laugh Lady Mary Pierce.

Through out the book she references Chocolate! There are analogies, quick recipes, and sweet secrets to keep you moving through the stories. Karen gives you a reason to laugh again and keep laughing. As the back cover says “Karen dishes up a satisfying blend of moxie and mocha, sharing stories of dozens of women who reveal savvy strategies for embracing a sweeter life.”

This book is all about how to keep moving forward when life has got you down. I found it very refreshing and inspiring and will put many of these tips to practice as I continue my journey of healing. It has certainly changed my outlook on how I am coping. This past year has been a tough one and it was refreshing to read a book that finally put some humor and lightheartedness into some difficult topics to get the point across vs beating me over the head with it.
I highly recommend this easy to read, yet inspiring book. It will be released for sale tomorrow
